Default We Need A Hero presents "Twenty Plays in Fifty Minutes: A Stochasticity Revue"

Dear DSI Friends,

David Greenslade, John Reitz, the talented Rajeev Rajendran and I have been working on a project all summer. It is a show written in the style of the Neo-Futurists (located in Chicago and NYC), and will be an attempt to do twenty short original plays in fifty minutes, with an affinity for stochasticity (or as you and I know it, randomness).

Some of these plays will be funny, some are poignant, some have music and some dancing, but our hope is that they are all engaging. The order of the plays each night will be determined by audience choice, the admission is based on the roll of a die, and a few of the pieces will involve the audience in ways that should make this night exciting and unpredictable.

Mostly though, this is just a project we are all super excited about. And for me, it will be the last thing I do in the DSI Theater before I leave town. So our hope is that we can really pack the house for these two shows.

For this, I (we) are really hoping to see you guys there, if you are around that weekend. And also, I (we) really hope you will think about telling a few friends. This--obviously--is always the case with DSI shows, but our hope is that this kind of show--scripted and also not purely comedy--is something more out-of-the-norm for DSI and so our hope is that we can get all sorts of people to come out to the theater, even people who've never made it before.

Okay, this is a long post. I like DSI so much and will be sad to be leaving the area, but I think this show will be a good sendoff. There is a link to the facebook event at the bottom, feel free to invite any friends. Also the four of us will be selling tickets in advance, so direct anyone our way if they are interested. Soon, we will post some video teasers that might make it easier to convince people to come.

Lurv,
Josh

Here's a teaser if I've ever seen one!

That and nineteen other plays at next weekend's show! Some even with spoken lines and laughs! Definitely some with singing and dancing!
