You're invited to my Thanksgiving dinner.
Just in case anyone's stranded in town with no place to go, Katy and I are cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner at my apartment, oh, around 3pm or so.

The rumors are true: I do have a turkey fryer, and I'll be deep-frying that bitch in peanut oil. And while I have a huge vat of boiling oil at my disposal, I'll be whipping up batches of hushpuppies and fried dough and maybe other things.

Meanwhile, Katy's going to cook up the mashed potatoes and the green bean casserole and the stuffing and PIES. Oh yes, there will be PIES.

Austin will smile politely.

If you'd like to join us, contact me somehow to RSVP. Don't bother to post your goddamned regrets, I know most people have plans already. Why don't you be all supportive and shit, and say, "I know this is going to be awesome because I've had Scott's barbecue pork and that was incredible and Katy's white chocolate macademia nut cookies were fantastic." I mean, quit ruining everyone's life.

I will be making not one, but TWO homemade pies. PUMPKIN AND APPLE, people! I know it might be shocking, but I'm a bit of a whiz in the kitchen - so come on down. It will be most awesome.

oh yeah, and im making hot apple cider to enjoy in front of scott and austin's woodstove.

It looks like dinner's going to be an intimate gathering (there's still room for YOU if you need a place to go), but we'll be hanging out into the night watching movies and enjoying a fire and things of that nature.

If you're going to be around that evening but don't want to actually deal with your family after you eat, feel free to head on out. Here is a preliminary schedule for the day:

1pm - begin setup and preheating of turkey fryer, total spectacle
2pm - turkey is submerged in 350 degree peanut oil, gotta see it
~3:30pm - dinner is served, deeeeeelicious

~5pm - mini movie marathon begins
~7pm - second movie begins
~9pm - and so forth

So if you'd like to join us in the evening and don't want to be a tool and show up in the middle of a movie, Zach Ward, there you go.

Ethan and Katy and I discussed a myriad of possible themes for a movie marathon, such as "football movies" or "Christmas movies" or "movies where Kevin Bacon plays an asshole" or "movies where Denzel Washington plays an angry black man." But instead of that, the films screened will belong to the category, "movies Scott would like to see."

Too late to purchase my plane ticket. Le sigh.

I may be heading down your way after, *sigh*, my Thanksgiving dinner of lamb at a friend's house. Save me some turkey.

I may hit that up if I can drive back from the beach on time. Hopefully, 7 hours with family is too long for me.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:21 PM.
