That link will take you to a wealth of tributes and clips of the late, great Sir Peter Ustinov. For my part, I offer the following:

There have been very few geniuses of art and entertainment in the world in my opinion, but this man did it all, and he excelled at all of it. One of my first memories was watching Disney's Blackbeard's Ghost with my family and laughing hysterically, but being too young to know who the actor was, I just thought it was a terrific movie. Then to see his range in Spartacus, Quo Vadis, and Death on the Nile...not to mention being the voice of Prince John in Disney's Robin Hood!!

My one regret now is that I never will be able to make a movie with him, something I would much have liked to do. Just to be able to listen to his stories, jokes, anecdotes, impressions...God, I am thoroughly depressed now.

So long, good Sir Peter. Godspeed and farewell. Thank you for making me laugh.

"I was irrevocably betrothed to laughter, the sound of which has always seemed to me to be the most civilised music in the world."

Rest in Peace, Tony Randall. You were one of the funny ones.
