This was an old bit from a Milwaukee sketch group, the Dead Alewives. As far as I know they're not together anymore. Some of their stuff is really funny, you can download it at www.deadalewives.com. I've heard this before (and shown it to PT) because it's a hidden ending to the Playstation game Summoner. Instead of 8-bit graphics they do the bit but use characters from the game as the four players. It's pretty funny too, just try looking it up as a video file on Kazaa or something. I can IM it to you if you'd like to see it.

It's funny 'cause it's true. Let's not get into how I know it's true.

If I am not mistaken, the Dead Alewives came out of Milwaukee's ComedySportz-- yet another sketch group that was essentially a bunch of improvisers refining their favorite scenes and brainstorming new bits. Hurray for sketch comedy!

Also, Rob Schrab of the Dead Alewives wrote the awesome comic book Scud: The Disposable Assassin (www.scud.com) which is also now defunct.

And some of those backgrounds and characters in the movie are suspiciously 16-bit or better.
